“This is my second course with Mr. Macomber and he’s absolutely one of my favorites!”
“Providing feedback on all the assignments is incredibly valuable for us as learners. It not only helps us identify our strengths and weaknesses but also encourages a growth mindset. When we receive constructive criticism, it motivates us to strive for improvement and to refine our skills. Knowing where we went wrong allows us to correct our mistakes and avoid repeating them in the future. This process of reflection and adjustment promotes a deeper understanding of the subject matter and fosters our overall development. In addition, it creates a supportive learning environment where we feel comfortable taking risks and exploring new ideas, ultimately leading us to achieve better results. Therefore, consistent and thoughtful input on our work is essential for our academic growth and success.”

John Macomber is an amazing instructor and I am grateful I have gotten the opportunity to be in his class.
“He has definitely made my time at UMass Global more meaningful, and other instructors could learn a
thing or two from his timely feedback and grading, to his kind and understanding heart.”

“Professor answered my questions promptly. His feedback was useful, supportive and enlightening.””Mr. Mac would give detailed feedback to all of my assignments.”
“It’s a very interesting class and I loved being able to research many different topics, but there were a lot of required readings and videos to be read/watched every week. It’s difficult to pour that many hours into just preparing to do the assignment and still work full time. Definitely well over the 15 hrs/week that was said.”
“I would highly recommend this teacher to others. Mr. Mac was a fair grader, explained results and needed improvements well, turned grades in a reasonable time-frame, especially for the amount of students and work this class entails.”
“I LOVED this course, it was mind-expanding and I learned so much! I felt connected to the class through the discussion boards. I found the content captivating and fun! Excellent course and instructor!”

“Great Professor!”
“Great teacher!”
“I was having a hard time with APA7 formatting, because I was so use to writing in APA6. This instructor not
only graded me fairly, but told mw what i was making a mistake on. He provided resources as well. Now
I’m able to understand APA7 format. My last paper showed I followed his instruction and did better on each
paper. Thank you!”
“This was a thought-provoking course. I enjoyed reading the book mindset, it helped me understand how
children learn.”
“My professor overall did a good job and if I had a problem with an assignment or a link not working, he
usually responded right away.”
“This course gave me many foundations to build on. It has given me many avenues to add to my
repertoire and skills to help my future students meet their goals.”
“This instructor was fair with grading and understanding that people were not experts with APA formatting.”

Student Feedback from LBSU-302-OL3 Information Fluency & Academic Integrity, Summer II, Brandman University, – Jul-Aug 2021
“I also found it very helpful and useful that you provided the APA guide to referencing. I printed it out and will be using it to make sure my in cite referencing is correct and my reference pages are typed and formatted correctly. I appreciate you commenting on my work with what I need to work on and what you liked about my writing. I’ve had professors that don’t communicate as much and I would rather have a professor tell me things to work on so I can grow and be a better student/writer overall. Thank you Mr. Mac.” WEEK 8 DISCUSSION FEEDBACK
“I was a college drop out, until I decided to return 8 weeks ago. Now that I have shared this backstory, I can share that I was already familiar with citing work. It has been a long time since I had to cite anything and relearning things was enlightening. My instructor, Mr. Mac has a blog where he has taken the time to provide instruction on how to use Leatherby Libraries which is not user friendly. Reading the instructions on the blog, step by step has simplified things for me. Mr. Mac also did a great job at including resources that teach a student how to properly site sources. The annotated bibliography and literature review are subjects that I have really struggled with when I was previously a student. This time around the instructions where better put together and I did much better. Another thing that I learned was surrounding the flow of the information that I read about a topic.” – WEEK 8 DISCUSSION FEEDBACK

“As far as the class Mr. Mac did do a very great job instructing these classes during these uncertain times that have truly impacted all of us.” Week 8, Discussion feedback
“I have to agree that this COVID is making it so hard for everyone to do their daily activities. I, also, have to agree that Professor Mac has been one of the best Professors I have had while going to College/University. The fact that he was always checking in on us and making sure we stayed safe and reminding us of the weekly assignments, was very nice to have. He was very understanding if we turned in a late assignment, as long as we communicated that with him (which is the right thing to do). The activities you picked are awesome choices because they were both fun to do and at the same time very rewarding.” Week 8, Discussion B feedback
“After reflecting on this course, I am grateful to have been a part of a course where I not only learned from my professor, but my peers as well. Each discussion board was interesting and I felt like I walked away with new knowledge every time. Mr. Mac was great! No complaints whatsoever.
Great class and a very great instructor.
Loved this class and how helpful the instructor was, especially with his patience in helping the class use APA Format.
He did a great job of giving feedback to help me grow as a student and in my writing. He graded my work in a timely manner so I was able to use that going forward on the next assignments. He was available to ask questions and made the class fun.
Professor was very thorough in what was expected of the assignments and if he had concerns as most of the class was turning in something not up to expectations he went out of his way to provide more assistance to a class as a whole, gave tips, feedback and at all times was very professional and respectful. Thank you for an amazing instruction, this class made me think out of the box.
I was very impressed with how quickly the instructor responded to an email, especially when I would email at 1030 at night when I normally get off work.
Thanks for a great class.

I felt the instructor was very helpful and understanding. This is absolutely essential when conducting an online class with such a diverse student population. From the instructor down to the tech support agent who took my calls when I had an issue with turning in a paper or accessing a discussion board or uploading a document to a journal assignment, even the helpful folks at financial aid, this has been a very easy and
organic process. I highly appreciate the ease with which a student like me can come back to learn after being out of the classroom environment for over 25 years. Brandman University is top quality all the way around! Thank you!
